Uwharrie Vineyard & Audubon Bird Sanctuary

We rolled into Uwharrie Vineyards late Saturday, dog-tired after our second day of driving. There was a pot of gold waiting for us. Solitude. Not a soul around. We had the vast property to ourselves to share only with fireflies and the birds. Sleep came quickly to us after a nice long walk through the property. It was cool enough to open the windows. After a long slow morning of yoga and mediation, we were ready to get back out on the road for our next stop at Jackie and Tom’s house in Afton, Virginia.
